Raise Your Goblets at Essen 2016!

A game of Toasts, Poisoning and Flawless Etiquette.

In the great Kingdom of Otravia, no King has ever ruled till the natural end of his life. Some say it is just a coincidence. Some others say it is the stress, so the King drinks it away with Wine

Raise Your Goblets is a poison-free deductive party game by Horrible Games, developed by Tim Paige and illustrated by Nick Miles.
Players will take the roles of guests at a magnificent Otravian Banquet. During the various Courses, you will have Poison, Antidote and Wine to pour into the Gobletson the table. You will have the chance to taste the bouquet of your Wine to look for Poison, swap the Goblet in front of you with the one of another player, or rotate themto further mix things up. But beware, you’ll have to be ready for the Toast! You will also have a Character card with a special ability that will allow you to bend the rules of the game to your advantage! Your goal is to poison your target while trying to survive your enemy’s plans to kill you!

Raise Your Goblets will officially be launched at the Essen SPIEL fair that will run from 13 to 16 October 2016. Pay us a visit at our booth! The first people to buy a copy of Raise Your Goblets will also receive a set of coasters with the most important Otravian Households (while stocks last)!

But wait… there’s more!

Horrible Games is really proud to announce that, during the Fair, a special edition of the game will also be available, called Raise Your Goblets: Limited Edition. This limited edition features a special box, embellished with shiny details and a different artwork, and an exclusive set of golden Goblets instead of the regular ones contained in the standard edition.

As the name implies, Raise Your Goblet: Limited Edition will be available in really limited quantities, so do not miss the chance to put your hands on it! Those who will buy the Limited Edition will also receive a poison-free wine bottle of King Cobra’s Special Reserve (while stock lasts). A proper mean to the end of cheering and toasting with your friends!

If you want to take a closer look at the game rules and components, make sure to visit the official page on BoardGameGeek.

About the magic marbles of Potion Explosion!

Professor Albedus Humblescore

We’ve been receiving a few reports about the marbles contained into the Potion Explosion™ boxes. Our beloved Professor Humblescore has an official announcement about the magic marbles included into each copy of the game:

Dear students,

you may notice that sometimes the marbles for your Potions may present slight imperfections, like slightly variable dimensions or small holes, and a slightly different tone of the same color. That is a normal condition of the marbles, since every single ingredient is unique. I can assure that these features don’t affect your potion-brewing experience in any way!

So no worries, students. Keep brewing powerful and incredible Potions!

Sincerely,
Albedus Humblescore,
Headmaster of the Horribilorum Academy for Witty Witches and Wizards

Credits obvisouly go to Matteo Cremona and Max Rambaldi for their amazing work on the art of the game, and to Ares Games for distributing the game in the USA. This would have not been possible without them.

A new Potion Explosion reprint with a WHOLE NEW marble dispenser!

As you may already know, Potion Explosion was sold out after its successful launch during the SPIEL fair in Essen, last October. We’re now very pleased to announce that the first reprint of Potion Explosion is finally approaching its release! The first few copies will be available in English, German and Italian just in time for the holidays. More copies (and languages) will come early next year. Stay tuned!

While setting up the full-scale production process, we took some time to also address some production issues we unexpectedly faced with the first print run, especially with the marble dispenser design. A lot of tweaks and fixes were implemented, and the result is a sturdier, easier to assemble and generally hassle-free working dispenser! Hurray!

All these changes are very cool, but what about the players who already bought the game in Essen? Have they been left behind? Well, no, of course! As we already announced, we will be sending a complete copy of the new dispenser, free of charge, to all of the early adopters of Potion Explosion. Take this as a big, heartfelt, all-caps THANK YOU for being so enthusiast and supportive about the game, despite the aforementioned production issues the first print run had.

So, if you are one of the lucky few possessors of Potion Explosion, write us an email at the address customercare@horrible-games.com. We will need you to also write us your address and phone number (the mail carrier will need this to contact you in case of issues with the delivery); please remember to attach a photo of the “Whoopsie!!!” token you received along with your copy of the game at the fair!

Hello everyone! Like every year, Horrible Games will be at the Essen SPIEL fair, that will run from 8 to 11 October 2015.
You can find us in Hall 3, booth P-108.

Potion Explosion cover

Pay us a visit! We’ll be officially launching Potion Explosion at the fair! The first people to buy a copy will also receive a t-shirt for free (while stocks last) at one condition: if you want it, you have to wear it in front of us! If you want to take a closer look at the game rules and components, make sure to visit the official page on BoardGameGeek. You’ll also find a lot of previews and videos of the Dispenser in action.

PE T-Shirt

We will also have Dungeon Fighter: Rock and Roll! We actually released it a few months ago, but it’s the first time we bring it to Essen, so if you didn’t grab your copy yet, now’s the time! At our booth you’ll also find more gadgets than ever, and some copies of all of the games in our catalog! They need your love… Dungeon Fighter (the base game and all of the four expansions), Steam Park, Co-Mix, they are all searching for a new home and a pair of caring hands.

DF_Earth_cover

If all of this is not enough to convince you: we’ll bring a new Dungeon Fighter promo hero as an exclusive for the show, who may or may not actually be a heroine. Also, we heard through the grapevine that it may be a crossover of sorts with a certain “game with balls” people’s talking about a lot, recently. Only time will tell! We will also be showing a prototype of one of the game we are still developing, Alone, and if you ask really nicely, we may have something to say about more expansions we’re are working on… and they are not for Dungeon Fighter.

See you in Essen! Remember, you can find us there from 8 to 11 October 2015 in Hall 3, booth P-108.
