Alone™ coming May 2nd on Kickstarter!

Coming to Kickstarter on May 2nd. Save the date!

Alone™ is an asymmetric dungeon crawler by Andrea Crespi and Lorenzo Silva, two of the authors of the award-winning Potion Explosion™. In Alone™, a single player will control a castaway Hero, exploring an unknown map full of dangers and traps and trying to complete missions, while up to 3 Evil masterminds will plot against him in the darkness, trying to kill him.

We will be launching a Kickstarter campaign for Alone on May 2nd, 2017!

Depending on which side you choose, Hero or Evil, Alone™ will offer you two completely different experiences. The Hero‘s challenge is to survive and complete his mission. His vision of the map is limited: he can only see as far as his flashlight allows him. His life always threatened, he’ll have to be careful at every step.

The map will be gradually revealed to the Hero as he explores the environment, and the actions of the Evil players will give him clues he can use to deduce where the traps laid for him have been placed. His wits will be constantly tested by the mischievous plots of the Evil players, and since all but the nearest map tiles are removed from the table at the end of each round, his memory will be, too.

On the other side of the fence, hidden behind their screen, the Evil players are playing a completely different game. The whole map is always available to them, at all times. By playing cards both from their common and personal decks, they can spawn and move hideous creatures, place insidious traps, and manipulate parts of the map, all to make the Hero’s life as difficult as possible.

The Evil players have to cooperate to successfully hamper the Hero’s efforts. But the Hero is just at the other side of the table! Each clue he can gather from the communications between the Evil players may be a life saver, so the Evil players will have to strike the right balance between the needs for secrecy and effective communication.

As you may have heard, we previously announced March 15th as the starting date of our Kickstarter campaign. However, after speaking with our partners, our testers and our fans, we decided to take a bit more time and add some extra content to the game. We will take this time to add more stretch goals and more Kickstarter exclusive content. This will result in a bigger and better game, and will allow us to reach a bigger audience on the Kickstarter platform.

Save the new date! Alone will land on Kickstarter on May 2nd!

About the magic marbles of Potion Explosion!

Professor Albedus Humblescore

We’ve been receiving a few reports about the marbles contained into the Potion Explosion™ boxes. Our beloved Professor Humblescore has an official announcement about the magic marbles included into each copy of the game:

Dear students,

you may notice that sometimes the marbles for your Potions may present slight imperfections, like slightly variable dimensions or small holes, and a slightly different tone of the same color. That is a normal condition of the marbles, since every single ingredient is unique. I can assure that these features don’t affect your potion-brewing experience in any way!

So no worries, students. Keep brewing powerful and incredible Potions!

Headmaster of the Horribilorum Academy for Witty Witches and Wizards

Credits obvisouly go to Matteo Cremona and Max Rambaldi for their amazing work on the art of the game, and to Ares Games for distributing the game in the USA. This would have not been possible without them.
Now, fingers crossed! Competition is fierce.

A new Potion Explosion reprint with a WHOLE NEW marble dispenser!

As you may already know, Potion Explosion was sold out after its successful launch during the SPIEL fair in Essen, last October. We’re now very pleased to announce that the first reprint of Potion Explosion is finally approaching its release! The first few copies will be available in English, German and Italian just in time for the holidays. More copies (and languages) will come early next year. Stay tuned!
While setting up the full-scale production process, we took some time to also address some production issues we unexpectedly faced with the first print run, especially with the marble dispenser design. A lot of tweaks and fixes were implemented, and the result is a sturdier, easier to assemble and generally hassle-free working dispenser! Hurray!
All these changes are very cool, but what about the players who already bought the game in Essen? Have they been left behind? Well, no, of course! As we already announced, we will be sending a complete copy of the new dispenser, free of charge, to all of the early adopters of Potion Explosion. Take this as a big, heartfelt, all-caps THANK YOU for being so enthusiast and supportive about the game, despite the aforementioned production issues the first print run had.
So, if you are one of the lucky few possessors of Potion Explosion, write us an email at the address We will need you to also write us your address and phone number (the mail carrier will need this to contact you in case of issues with the delivery); please remember to attach a photo of the “Whoopsie!!!” token you received along with your copy of the game at the fair!
